Hampton 58, Happy Valley 36 (boys)
The Bulldogs took control in the third quarter and never looked back.
Happy Valley jumped out to a 12-8 lead after a quarter of play and then held on to a 25-22 halftime lead.
Hampton, however, came to life by outscoring the Warriors 17-3 in the third quarter and never looked back.
Garrett Vines and Logan Whitehead had 12 points each to pace the Bulldogs, while Michael Harison and Morgan Lyons had 10 and 11 points, respectively.
Andrew Clawson had nine points to pace the Warriors. Landon Babb scored eight points for the Warriors.
Happy Valley 51, Hampton 30 (girls)
The Lady Warriors methodically pulled away on Saturday night for a rivalry win on the road.
The first quarter saw both teams trade shots before HV outscored Hampton 13-5 in the second stanza.
The Lady Bulldogs continued to battle but Happy Valley was able to extend their lead in the third quarter and keep Hampton at bay in the final eight minutes.
Happy Valley saw Olivia Absher and Gabby Wood score 12 points apiece, while Kadie Bailey added nine points.
Hampton was paced by Sara Orr’s 13 points. Skylar Hicks added seven points.
Volunteer 57, Unaka 52 (girls)
Lyndie Ramsey and the Lady Rangers came up short in a non-conference tilt on Saturday.
For the second straight game, Ramsey eclipsed the 30-point mark as she scored 32 points against the Lady Falcons.
The Lady Rangers jumped out to an early lead but saw Volunteer use a second-quarter run to take a 26-19 lead into the half.
Unaka continued to battle but was unable to get back in front in the closing seconds.
Macy Ensor added eight points for the Lady Rangers.
