Thursday Round-up: Hampton Sweeps Cherokee; Lady Warriors Drop Hard Fought Contest

Hampton 97, Cherokee 39 (boys)
The Hampton boys jumped out early and never looked back.

The Bulldogs raced out to a 32-7 lead in the opening eight minutes, and quickly pushed the lead out to 62-18 at the half.

Dalton Holtsclaw had 28 points to lead Hampton. Hayden Campbell had 15 points, and Caden Buckles added 11 points.

Hampton 72, Cherokee 62 (girls)
The Lady Bulldogs took care of business in Head Coach Brandon Carpenter’s debut at the helm of the Hampton program.

The Lady Chiefs jumped out to a 16-12 lead after a quarter of play and maintained a 28-25 halftime lead.

Hampton, however, answered in a big way in the third quarter by outscoring their foes 20-11 to take the lead and hold the advantage.

Macy Henry had 19 points. Madi McClain had 18 points for the Lady Bulldogs, while Linsey Jenkins added 17 points.

Tennessee High 56, Happy Valley 41 (girls)
The Lady Warriors were unable to keep pace with the Lady Vikings on Thursday night.

Kadie Bailey had 13 points to pace Happy Valley. Marcida Moore and Holly Moore had nine and eight points, respectively.
