Thursday Round-up: Lady Rangers Pick Up Win At North Greene

Unaka 4, North Greene 3
The Lady Rangers picked up a big road win Thursday night.

Unaka got on the board in the first inning as Kendall Bare drove Sadie Shoun across home plate with a double. NG, however, countered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first.

The Lady Huskies added a run in the bottom of the third, but Unaka answered in the next frame.

Kylie Blevins hit a triple to left field that scored Hailey Gilman, and Mattie Salyer hit a single to bring Blevins across the plate.

Lyndie Ramsey pushed Unaka ahead as she scored after Shoun hit a single to left field.

That gave Unaka a 4-3 lead and proved to be enough to pick up the crucial win.

Trinity Bowers, Blevins, and Ramsey each had two hits apiece. As a team, Unaka had 12 hits.

Bowers picked up the win as she allowed two earned runs on six hits in six innings of work.

Cloudland 22, Hampton 2
The Lady ‘Landers picked up a strong district county win on Thursday afternoon.

Karah Fields was 5-for-5 with two RBI to lead CHS, while Layken Blair, Saharra McKinney, Ella Benfield, Taylor Hicks, and Ryan Turbyfill all had two hits apiece.

Benfield tallied five RBI.

Fields picked up the win as she struck out six and allowed two earned run on four hits.

Madison Setlock was 2-for-3 for Hampton, while Macy Henry and Cheyenne Fair each had a hit.

Happy Valley 21, Tri-Cities Christian 0
The Lady Warriors jumped out early and never looked back.

HV plated 12 runs in the first inning to take full control.

Ella Marvel allowed just four hits and recorded six strikeouts in three innings of work.

Maddie Lingerfelt was 3-for-3 at the plate, while Alleah Grindstaff, Laura Rice, and Reagan Street each had multiple hits for HV.

Volunteer 3, Elizabethton 0
The Lady Cyclones were unable to rally on Thursday.

Volunteer broke onto the scoreboard in the second with three runs.

Elizabethton continued to battle but was unable to close the gap.
Ember Jensen and Maely Ingram each recorded a hit for EHS.

Madisun Pritchard allowed three earned runs on five hits while striking out seven Lady Falcons.

Addyson Fisher picked up the win for Volunteer with 17 strikeouts.

Baseball
Johnson County 6, Hampton 4
The Bulldogs saw a late rally fall short in Mountain City.

Johnson County held a 6-1 advantage after six innings, but the Bulldogs kept battling.

Morgan Lyons pushed Conor Jones across the plate with a two-out single, and Lyons scored off a Collin Morgan single to pull Hampton within two with the tying run at the plate.

The Bulldogs, however, were unable to continue the rally.

Chance Point, Kyler Lewis, Lyons, and Morgan each had a hit for the Bulldogs.

Josh Whitson was handed the loss as he allowed no earned runs, six unearned runs on two hits with eight strikeouts.

Elizabethton 5, University High 1
Elizabethton took care of business on the pitch.

Eli Williams, Skylar Jennings, Isaac Hurley, Jacob Williams, and Riley Vernon scored goals to power EHS to the win.
