It was smooth sailing for Tennessee on Saturday.

The Vols scored early and often as Tennessee shellacked Akron 63-6 inside a sold-out Neyland Stadium on Saturday night.

The Vols rolled to 676 yards of total offense during the game – while averaging nearly 9.7 yards per play.

Tennessee – who led 14-0 at the end of the first, and pushed the advantage to 35-0 at the half.

The second half was much the game as Tenessee scored 14 points per quarter in the second half.

Hendon Hook was 14-of-18 passing for 298 yards and two scores, while Joe Milton went 4-for-5 with two touchdowns and 112 yards.

Jalin Hyatt had 166 yards receiving on five catches. In all, Tennessee had 12 players catch passes in the game.

Jaylen Wright had 96 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns, while Dylan Sampson had 57 yards on eight carries.

Tennessee is set to host Florida next week in a crucial contest to kickoff the SEC slate.
