Happy Valley was unable to get runs when they mattered.

The Warriors dropped a 4-1 heartbreaking loss to Sullivan South in the District 1-AA Baseball Tournament at Cardinal Park. With the loss, Happy Valley saw their season come to a close.

On Saturday, the Warriors found themselves in an early hole.

The Rebels took a 1-0 lead in the home side of the first as South struck with a solo home run. Neither team was able to get anything on the board again until the bottom of the fourth as South added two more runs to the tally.

Happy Valley broke onto the scoreboard in the sixth as Landon Morefield plated Dylan Willis with a two-out double. HV, however, was unable to extend the inning in the next at-bat. South got the run back in the home side of the frame off a Happy Valley error.

The Warriors were able to get a leadoff single by Hayden Holtsclaw, but was unable to rally back.

Morefield finished 2-for-3 at the plate, while Will Hampton and Holtsclaw had a hit apiece.

Nolan Easlic allowed just one hit and three earned runs on the mound for the Warriors.
