Happy Valley came up short on Friday night.
The Warriors saw the season come to a close with a 36-7 loss to Rockwood in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs on the road.
With the loss, Happy Valley finishes the 2020 season with a. 5-4 mark.
Points were hard to come by in the first half for both teams.
After the Tigers scored on the opening drive, the Warriors marched down the field to the Rockwood 11 but was turned away on four down in the closing minute of the first quarter to keep the score 6-0 Rockwood after a quarter of play.
The Warrior defense held strong against the Tigers forcing a quick punt. However, a sack put HV in a fourth-and-long scenario and the Warriors were stopped on fourth down. Rockwood moved into HV territory, but an interception ended the drive as Happy Valley took over at midfield.
The Warriors were unable to get anything going and were forced to punt with just under six minutes to play in the half. Rockwood was able to get some offense going and scored in the closing minutes of the half to take a 13-0 lead into the locker room.
The Warriors continued to battle in the second half, including an interception returned to the Rockwood 3. However, there were unable to capitalize and trailed 29-0 after three quarters of play.
