Warriors, Lady Warriors drop games at South

The Happy Valley basketball teams were unable to pull off upsets on Tuesday night.

The Lady Warriors dropped a 52-34 decision to Sullivan South, while the Warriors fell 74-43 on the road.


For the Lady Warriors, they stayed within striking distance through the first half – trailing 9-5 at the end of the first quarter and 19-12 at the half. The Lady Rebels, however, slowly started pulling away in the second half.

Kate Roberts had 11 points to lead HV, while Adrienne Henegar had 10 points. Tiana Long added seven points.

In the boys’ game, HV was unable to recover for a fast Rebel start.

South jumped out to a 24-10 lead in the first quarter and maintained a 14-point advantage at the half. From there, the Rebels added to the lead to take the win.

Bryce Carter had 14 points to lead HV. Jake Surcey and Brayden Sams tallied eight and seven points, respectively.
