Warriors snap losing skid; Lady Warriors fall to Johnson Co.

The Warriors are back in the win column.

The Happy Valley boys’ basketball team snapped a 14-game losing streak with a 64-44 victory over Johnson County. In the girls’ game, the Lady Warriors were unable to get anything going offensively in a 49-30 decision.


For the Warriors, they welcomed back a couple of players to the lineup in a big way.

HV raced out to a 32-14 lead at the half and never looked back.

Dylan Willis tallied 21 points to lead all scorers. Will Tittle recorded 13 points, while Blake Young had 10 points.

Johnson County was led by Lucas Phillips who scored 13 points.

For the Lady Warriors, points were hard to come by.

Johnson County limited the opportunities HV had and held the Lady Warriors to 19 points in three-quarters of play.

Shalyn Whitson and Jaiden Clark recorded nine points apiece to lead Happy Valley.

Sadie Stout scored 18 points to lead Johnson County.
