Weather disrupts District Baseball and Softball

Mother Nature is already impacting the District tournaments.

District 1-AA Baseball and Softball have postponed opening round games and altered schedules for the tournament.


At softball, the action will resume on Monday at 5 p.m., with Happy Valley and Johnson County finishing Thursday’s suspended game. Sullivan South will take on Unicoi County at 6:30 p.m., and the Lady Cyclones will take on Sullivan East at 8 p.m.

The rest of the tournament schedule is moved back a day with the Championships being set for Thursday.

In District 1-AA Baseball, Friday and Saturday action has been scratched, and the tournament will now open on Sunday with three games (Happy Valley vs. Elizabethton, Johnson County vs. Sullivan East and Sullivan North vs. Sullivan South).

Game times will be finalized later on Friday with an updated bracket/schedule.

Hampton’s District 1-A Baseball play-in game with South Greene was postponed until Saturday at 1 p.m. The other District 1-A play-in game, Cloudland at University High, was going to be played as scheduled as of 3 p.m. on Friday.
