Elizabethton 40, Unicoi County 37 (girls)
The Lady Cyclones took care of business in a thrilling win on Wednesday night.
After a sluggish first quarter that saw points hard to come by, Elizabethton outscored the Lady Blue Devils 15-6 in the second quarter to take control.
From there, EHS was able to hold on with key shots to take the crucial win.
Lina Lyon had 14 points to pace the Lady Cyclones. Morgan Headrick had 12 points, while Torrie Roberts had 10 points.
Hampton 58, Sullivan North 46 (boys)
The Bulldogs took control in the second quarter and never looked back.
Hampton outscored the Raiders 19-6 in the second quarter to take a 30-16 lead into the half. From there, HHS was able to keep North at bay to take the District 1-A win.
Morgan Lyons had 16 points to lead the way, while Conor Burleson had 12 points. Garrett Vines and Isaiah McCoury had nine points apiece.
Unicoi County 46, Elizabethton 35 (boys)
The Cyclones were unable to rally late against the Blue Devils.
Unicoi jumped out to a five-point lead after eight minutes of play and extended the margin to nine at the half.
EHS continued to battle but was unable to mount a rally against the home-standing Blue Devils.
Jake Roberts had 15 points to lead EHS, while William Willocks had 11 points.
