Friday Roundup: Lady Cyclones, Lady ‘Landers pick up wins

Elizabethton 50, Rabun Gap 27 (girls)
Elizabethton opened Roundball in the Hall with a solid win over the North Georgia foe.

The Lady Cyclones pulled away to a 13-6 lead in a quarter of play. EHS outscored Rabun Gap 16-7 in the second to take a double-digit lead into the second quarter.

Bailey Montgomery had 12 points to lead EHS, while Haley Burleson and Kaylen Shell had eight points apiece.


Rabun Gap 74, Elizabethton 47 (boys)

Elizabethton was handed their first loss of the season on Friday night.

The Cyclones saw Rabun Gap take a 10-point lead into the second quarter, and was never able to get back into the swing of things. EHS trailed 34-19 at the half.

Hayden Townsend led the Cyclones with 12 points. Alex Norwood had seven points, and Eric Wilson and Michael Robinson had six points apiece.

Cloudland 53, Providence 24 (girls)
Cloudland pulled away in the third quarter and never looked back for a non conference road win.

The Lady ‘Landers outscored Provided 14-0 in the third quarter to take a 19-point lead into the final period. That proved to be the difference in the game.

Shian Strickland led Cloudland with 14 points, while Stacia Wilson and Donrae Taylor had 10 points apiece. Trinity Vines and Johanna Johnson also added six points apiece.
