Bulldogs cruise past Cumberland Gap to advance

Hampton continued to fire on all cylinders on Friday night.

The Bulldogs jumped out early and never looked back en route to a 50-0 victory over Cumberland Gap in the first round of the Class 2 playoffs. Hampton is set to host Oneida – who dispatched Sullivan North 35-0 – next Friday in the second round.


Hampton has reeled off eight consecutive wins – including four straight shutouts.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first 12 minutes of the game, and maintained a 37-0 advantage at the half.

From there, Hampton hit cruise control to advance into the second round.

Caleb Oaks led the way for the Hampton effort as he had a three touchdown performance with two rushing and one receiving.

Sophomore Conor Jones threw passing touchdowns to Jonah Jones and Oaks.

On the ground, Macon Barden, Aidan Vines and Matt Hughes each scored for the Bulldog cause.
