The Hampton boys’ basketball team was unable to get momentum back on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs were unable to hold off a second-half charge as they dropped a 59-55 decision on the road to North Greene. The Lady Bulldogs fell 63-35 in the game.

In the boys’ game, Hampton had control early.

The Bulldogs held a 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, and then pushed the advantage to 26-19 at the half.

North Greene, however, came out of the gate hot in the second half as they quickly trimmed the HHS lead. In the fourth quarter, Hampton saw Morgan Lyons and Rocky Croy push the Bulldogs back into the lead to answer the NG run, but a Husky 3-pointer with just over four minutes gave NG the lead for good.

Hampton was able to trim the lead the deficit to 3-points in the closing minutes, but was unable to get back in front.

Lyons scored 16 points to lead Hampton, while Croy had 12 points. Caleb Oaks added 10 points.

In the girls’ game, Hampton was unable to keep pace with a torrid offensive attack from the Lady Huskies.

The Lady Bulldogs saw NG jump out to a 31-12 lead in the first quarter and pushed the advantage to 49-15 at the half. Hampton was able to get things settled down in the second half, but was unable to mount a comeback.

Linsey Jenkins led Hampton with 13 points. Hannah Collins added five points.
