Hampton left no doubt against Johnson County on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs rolled to an 81-63 victory over the Longhorns in nonconference action. In the girls’ contest, Hampton fell 68-36.
In the boys’ game, it was all Hampton early.
The Bulldogs raced out to a 30-2 lead in the opening quarter and maintained a 44-21 lead at the half. From there, Hampton hit cruise control in the second half as they were never threatened.
Jordan Bentley had 24 points to lead all scorers, while Connor Jones had 13 points. Caleb Oaks had 11 points in the win. Morgan Lyons finished with nine points.
Lucas Phillips led Johnson County with 16 points.
In the girls’ game, Hampton was unable to recover from an early deficit.
The Lady Bulldogs saw Johnson County jump out to a 22-4 lead in the first quarter. Hampton continued to battle with shots from Hannah Collins, but the Lady Bulldogs were unable to cut into the Lady Longhorn lead.
Collins led Hampton with 11 points. Linsey Jenkins and Hazen Brumitt had six points each.
Taylor Cox had 22 points to pace Johnson County, while Sadie Stout had 18 points.
