Bulldogs Run Past North Greene In Region 1-A Showdown

Hampton celebrated Homecoming in a big way on Friday night.

The Bulldogs ran for 537 yards in a 46-6 Region 1-A victory over North Greene on Warrior Hill. With the win, Hampton improved to 3-0 in region play and 5-1 overall.

Connor McKinney made his presence felt on both sides of the ball as he recorded three interceptions on the defensive side while running for 198 yards on seven carries. Isaiah Belcher had 147 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns.

Jayden Kuhn tallied two touchdowns with six carries for 45 yards, while Brody Lambert and Sage Milhorn had a touchdown apiece. Lambert ended the game with 63 yards, and Milhorn added 48 yards.

Hampton set the tone early.

The Bulldogs moved down the field on the opening drive quickly and efficiently as Lambert capped the drive with a 19-yard touchdown. Belcher added the two-point conversion.

North Greene moved inside the Hampton 5 on the ensuing possession, but the Bulldog defense held strong, stopping the Huskies on down. HHS added a six-yard touchdown from Kuhn to take a 14-0 lead into the second.

Belcher broke free early in the second for a 50-yard touchdown run while Milhorn broke free for a 23-yard score as the Bulldogs took a 30-0 lead into the locker room.

North Greene got on the board in the third quarter as Thomas Darnell found Brandon Weems for a 53-yard touchdown. However, Belcher answered with a 26-yard touchdown for the Bulldogs.

Kuhn capped the Hampton scoring with a four-yard run in the fourth.

Darnell had 17 carries for 103 yards to lead NG, and he added 102 yards on 8-of-18 passing.
