Hampton split a pair of nonconference road games on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs pulled away in the fourth quarter to take a 54-43 victory at South Greene, while the Lady Bulldogs were unable to keep pace with a torrid SG attack in a 77-40 decision on Rebel Hill.
For the Hampton boys, Jordan Bentley had a stellar night as he recorded 18 points to lead the way. Rocky Croy joined Bentley in double-digits with 12 points.
The Bulldogs held a slim 13-11 lead after a quarter of play, and trailed 25-24 at the break. HHS jumped back in front during the third quarter.
Hampton took control of the game in the final quarter by outscoring the Rebels 18-8.
Conor Jones and Izack Hill had eight points apiece.
In the girls’ game, Hampton was unable to overcome a big second quarter by the Lady Rebels.
Hampton stayed within striking distance in the first quarter as they trailed 13-11 at the end of the frame. South Greene, however, saw the offensive attack start rolling as they outscored Hampton 31-6 to take control of the game.
Hazen Brumitt led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points. Sara Orr added six points.
