Hampton saw an early run prove to be too much to overcome.

The upset-minded Bulldogs dropped a 79-67 decision to Dobyns-Bennett on Tuesday night in nonconference action.

The Bulldogs saw DB jump out to a 12-0 lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter, and the Indians held a 24-10 lead after eight minutes of play.

Hampton, however, battled back outscoring DB 19-14 in the second quarter.

The Bulldogs continued to battle as they closed the DB lead to six points before another quick Indian run.

Conor Jones led the Hampton attack with 12 points, while Michael Harrison and Nathaniel Holtsclaw had nine points apiece.

Logan Whitehead and Morgan Lyons had eight points each.

The Lady Bulldogs were unable to keep pace with a torrid offensive attack on Tuesday night.

Hampton saw the Class AAA Lady Indians jump out to an early lead as DB pushed the advantage 44-12 lead at the half.

The Lady Bulldogs, however, battled back in the third quarter, but was unable to make a major cut into Dobyns-Bennett lead.

Madi McClain had eight points to lead the Lady Bulldogs.
