Two Carter County teams climbed in this week’s TSWA Prep Football poll.

In Class A, Hampton moved up a spot to No. 3. The Bulldogs tallied 131 points – just 14 points behind No. 2 Coalfield – and received one first-place vote.

South Pittsburg remained at No. 1 with 169 points and 16 first-place votes. McKenize and Humboldt rounded out the top five.

In Class 2A, Happy Valley improved two spots to No. 7 in this week’s poll. The Warriors garnered 56 points and were just 27 points behind No. 6 Milan.

Huntingdon remained the unanimous No. 1, with Marion County and East Nashville coming in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. East Robertson and Gordonsville rounded out the top five.

Hampton and Happy Valley are set to square off on Friday night in Hampton.
