Three Carter County teams were ranked inside the AP Top 10 after Week 3 action.
In Class 4A, Elizabethton moved up a spot to No. 6. The Cyclones, who rolled past Sullivan East, recorded 76 points in the poll. Region 1-4A foe Greeneville was ranked No. 1 in the poll with 149 points, and Haywood and Crockett County rounded out the top three.
Happy Valley was ranked No. 10 in the Class 2A poll. The Warriors, who dispatched Hampton 41-0, tallied 26 points. Marion County was the top team in the poll with Meigs County and Union City rounded out the top three.
In Class A, Cloudland moved up a spot to No. 9 after the bye week. Cloudland had 29 points in the poll. South Pittsburg, despite not having the most first-place votes, was ranked No. 1, while Dresden and Huntingdon were No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Other local teams ranked includes Science Hill (No. 5 in Class 6A), Daniel Boone (No. 5 in Class 5A) and Johnson County (No. 4 in Class 3A).
