Cloudland baseball sees season end to UH

The ‘Landers were unable to get a second upset of the season.

After dispatching University High earlier in the season, Cloudland saw the 2017 season come to a close with a 7-1 loss to the Bucs in the play-in game of the District 1-A tournament.

With the win, University High advances to take on Unaka on Monday at David Crockett. The other play-in game, South Greene at Hampton, was postponed until Saturday.

After the Bucs took a 4-0 lead in the first inning, Cloudland put a run on the board as Dakota Johnson plated Brinkley Mull in the third inning.

The ‘Landers, however, were unable to recover as UH added two runs in the sixth to secure the win.

Johnson went 2-for-3 for the ‘Landers, while Andrew Julian and Mull added a hit apiece.

Dillion Johnson was handed the loss on the mound despite a stellar effort.
