Cloudland boys, girls cruise to wins

The Cloudland basketball programs got back to winning ways on Tuesday night.

The Lady ‘Landers dispatched Cedarview Academy 58-15 inside Sonny Smith Gymnasium, while the ‘Landers cruised to a 78-48 victory.


In the girls’ game, Cloudland jumped out early and never looked back. Stacia Wilson had nine points in the first quarter while the CHS defense held Cedarview to just one point. The Lady ‘Landers pushed the lead to 30-5 at the half.

Six Cloudland players found the scorebook in the third quarter, including six points from Krisi Bare, as CHS extended to the lead.

Wilson had 15 points to lead Cloudland.

In the boys’ game, the ‘Landers set the tone early.

Josh Blair and Robert Leeper had eight points apiece in the first quarter as CHS raced out to 29-3 lead in the first quarter. With seven points from Hunter Shell to continue holding the momentum, Cloudland extended the lead to 49-18 at the half.

In the second half, the ‘Landers continued to stay on the gas pedal to cruise to the win.

Leeper had a team-high 18 points, while Shell had 13 points. Thomas Hicks and Blair had 12 points apiece, while Jordan Coffey added 11 points.
