Cloudland took care of business and marked an item off the goal list on Friday night.

The ‘Landers claimed the Region 1-A title with a 54-12 road victory over Jellico. It was Cloudland’s eighth straight victory as CHS finished region play with an unblemished 3-0 mark.

With the win, Cloudland also earned a home playoff game as the No. 1 seed from Region 1-A.

CHS jumped out early as Jordan Coffey scored on a run and Connor Birchfield added the two-point conversion. After Jellico broke onto the board, Triston Lacy made an impressive catch on a pass from Malachi Benfield to push the CHS lead to 16-6.

From there, it was all Cloudland.

Lacy caught his second touchdown of the night, and Josh Blair scored off a catch from a Benfield pass. Coffey added another touchdown in the first as Cloudland held a 38-6 advantage going to the second.

The ‘Landers added a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to account for the final margin.

Benfield finished the game with four passing touchdowns, while Coffey ended the night with three rushing touchdowns.

Cloudland is set to wrap up the home portion of their schedule on Friday as they welcome Johnson County to Orr Field.
