There is a new face leading the Cloudland football program.

Glenn White has been named the head coach of the ‘Landers program after serving as an assistant the past two seasons. The team met with White on Tuesday morning.

White replaces Mike Lunsford, who resigned in March.

White has previously been head coach at his alma mater Unicoi County before coming to Cloudland. Prior to taking the helm of the Unicoi County program, White served as an assistant for 24 years in Erwin.

White also served as head coach at Gordonsville for two seasons and Happy Valley for two seasons.

Cloudland is coming off a 2018 season that saw the ‘Landers roll to a 9-3 record and the Region 1-A title. CHS saw their season come to a close in heartbreaking fashion as Coalfield scored in the closing minute to take a 29-24 victory in the second round of the playoffs.

The ‘Landers have won four straight Region 1-A titles.

White and Cloudland are set to open the season at Happy Valley.
