Cyclones Roll Past East

For a couple of hours of normalcy, Elizabethton made the most of it.

The Cyclones captured a 43-6 win over Sullivan East on Monday afternoon in Region 1-4A play. While originally scheduled for Elizabethton last Friday, the game was moved to Sullivan East for this evening after the cataphoric events of Friday. Admission for the game went as donations to disaster relief.

EHS jumped out quickly as Rhett Slagle scored on a 3-yard touchdown and EHS added a two-point conversion to take an 8-0 lead.

The Cyclones got back on the board on the next possession as Justus Wallin scored on an eight-yard run.

Slagle pushed the lead out with a six-yard touchdown. Elizabethton pushed the lead to 29-0 after the first quarter when J-Bird Wallin scored on a short run.

In the second quarter, CJ Mathes added a four-yard touchdown to the EHS lead as the Cyclones took a 36-0 advantage.

Elizabethton got on the board late in the third quarter to take a 43-0 lead as J-Bird Wallin scored on an 18-yard run.

Sullivan East got on the board midway through the final quarter as Elijah Briggs scored on a 12-yard run.

Slagle finished with 115 passing yards and had 28 yards on four carries. Mathes ended the game with 65 yards, while J-Bird Wallin tallied 32 rushing yards.
