Cyclones Take Road Region Game Over Grainger

Elizabethton kept on rolling Friday night.

The Cyclones rolled to a 49-6 Region 1-4A win over Grainger on the road.

Brycen Blevins went 12-of-17 for 200 yards and three touchdowns in his first career start at quarterback. Blevins was playing in relief of injured Rhett Slagle, who will miss the rest of the season.

William McDuffie opened the scoring for EHS with a 7-yard touchdown run. Elizabethton’s defense made it hard for Grainger to find an inch.

Blevins connected with Justius Wallin on a 28-yard screen pass to add to the EHS lead.
EHS added to the late on the next Cyclone drive as Wallin caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Blevins.

Elizabethton added another score as McDuffie scored on a 30-yard run.

Grainger scored late in the half on a 68-yard pass, but the Cyclones saw Blevins and C.J. Mathes connect for a 39-yard touchdown as EHS led 35-7 at the break.

In the second half, Zack Wallin had a scoop and score that covered 62 yards, and Legend Pate scored on a 10-yard run to account for the final.

McDuffie had three carries for 61 yards, Justius Wallin had three catches for 68 yards.
