Elizabethton 67, Johnson County 59
The Cyclones took care of business at home on Friday.
EHS had a balanced offensive attack to down the Longhorns. Jackson Hobbs finished the game with 16 points, while Mac Paulson had 11 points.
Luke Whaley, Andrew Barnett, and Will Churchill had 10 points apiece.
Darren Chappell led Johnson County with 20 points.
Unicoi County 62, Hampton 52
Hampton was unable to battle back from a second-quarter Unicoi onslaught.
After the Bulldogs led 14-11 after a quarter of play, Unicoi went on a 25-9 run during the second to seize control. Hampton continued to battle but was unable to rally back past Unicoi despite a hard-fought effort.
Hayden Campbell had 17 points to lead the way for Hampton, while Chance Point had 10 points. Michael Anspaugh had seven points.
Kolby Jones led Unicoi with 21 points.
Unaka 72, Cosby 70
The Rangers picked up a strong win on Friday night on the road as Unaka won a back-and-forth battle against a strong Cosby squad.
Mason Wilson led the way as he scored 20 points. Marcus Shomaker added 17 points for the Rangers, while Connor McKinney scored eight points.
Girls
Hampton 44, Unicoi County 40
Hampton used a late run to take care of business in a Friday night road nonconference game.
The Lady Bulldogs used an 8-0 run in the closing minutes to rally past Unicoi and take the win.
Taylor Berry and Piper Helle led the way with 12 points.
Cosby 50, Unaka 29
The Lady Rangers were unable to keep pace with a torrid Cosby offensive attack.
After Cosby led 16-7 after the first quarter, the Rangers were unable to use a run to cut into the gap as the Lady Eagles pulled out to a 31-13 halftime advantage.
Unaka kept battling but was unable to rally back.
Katlyn Dugger had nine points to lead Unaka, while Emma Taylor and Haley Taylor had six points apiece.
