Hampton took care of business on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs used a balanced attack to take a 73-49 victory over Hancock County in the Region 1-A semifinals at Walter State Community College.
Hampton advanced to the Region 1-A Championship with the win and also secured a spot in Monday’s sectional action.
The Bulldogs jumped out early by doubling up the Indians in the first quarter as HHS took a 14-7 advantage after eight minutes of play.
Five Bulldogs found the scorebook in the second quarter as Logan Whitehead and Cadon Buckles scored six points apiece in the quarter.
That powered Hampton to take a 35-23 halftime advantage.
In the third quarter, the Bulldogs left no doubt as Hampton ended the quarter on a run to push the lead to 52-32 after three quarters of play.
Buckles had 14 points to power the Bulldogs, while Conor Burleson had 12 points.
Morgan Lyons, Michael Harrison, and Whitehead scored 11 points apiece.
Hancock County was led by Storm Ramsey’s 15 points.
