The Hampton Girls’ Basketball program will have a new leader at the helm next season.
Bud Hazelwood has announced his retirement from coaching and will step aside from coaching. The school confirmed the news to Carter County Sports on Friday morning.
Hazelwood has been at the helm of the Lady Bulldogs since December 2013.
During his tenure, Hampton reached the state semifinals in 2017 – where they fell in a heartbreaking game to Clarkrange.
The Lady Bulldogs reached the substate in 2017 and in 2015.
A search for Hazelwood’s replacement is underway.
