The Climate Controllers Player of the Week for Week 7 had a gutsy performance.
Hampton’s Morgan Lyons has been named the Climate Controllers Player of the Week for his return to the football field against South Greene.
Lyons returned from an injury in a preseason scrimmage in a big way.
The senior nabbed an interception on the first play of scrimmage and scored a three-yard touchdown in the second half.
Lyons also recovered an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff following his touchdown.
For the game, Lyons had seven carries for 36 yards with three catches for 31 yards – all three of which came when the Bulldogs needed them.
Lyons joins teammate Conor Jones as Climate Controllers Player of the Week selections this season.
Other selections include Bryson Rollins (Elizabethton), Caleb Sluder (Cloudland), Seth Birchfield (Cloudland), Landon Ramsey (Unaka), and Jamol Blamo (Unaka).
Lyons and company return to action Friday night with a trip to Gatlinburg Pittman.
