Happy Valley kept things interesting Wednesday night in Virginia.
The Warriors opened Alpha Natural Resources basketball tournament Wednesday night at Virginia High School but were unable to rally against Marion, falling 62-52.
Happy Valley netted three players in double figures: Brandon Young, Corey Matherly and Josh Hammonds but the were unable to stop Riley Blevins’ 30-point effort for the Marion Hurricanes.
Young led the Warriors with 14 points. Hammonds (13) and Matherly (10) combined for 23 points to spearhead HV’s scoring, respectively.
