Elizabethton kept on marching on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Cyclones advanced to the Region 1-AA Championship and secured a spot in substate with a 6-3 victory over Greeneville.

Elizabethton will host Unicoi County on Wednesday in the Region 1-AA Championship game.

The Lady Cyclones took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Macie Herrmann scored off a Maci West single. EHS pushed the lead to 3-0 in the home side of the frame as Allison Riddle scored off a Lauren Brickey hit, and Herrmann scored off a West single.

Greeneville closed the gap to 3-2 in the third inning. Jessica Cunningham put the Lady Cyclones back in control with a three-run homerun over left field. That was enough to send the Lady Cyclones to the win.

Cunningham was 3-for-4 at the plate, while West went 2-for-2. Five additional Lady Cyclones recorded a hit in the game.

Brickey picked up a win as she allowed two earned runs on six hits with nine strikeouts.
