The Lady Rangers kicked off the weekend with a strong performance, but the Rangers were unable to answer a balanced University High attack.
Unaka saw the girls’ team pick up a 55-39 victory, while the Rangers fell 62-59 to the Bucs.
For the Lady Rangers, Hannah Tipton and Katlyn Burrow had 13 points apiece to power the way to the win. Katlyn Weaver added eight points for Unaka, while Sierra Wright and Lexi Garland had seven points apiece.
Lexi Crouthers had 14 points to lead UH.
In the boys’ game, the Rangers were unable to push past the Bucs late. Kyler Lewis had 24 points, while Colton Chambers tallied 16 points in the game. Joe Searfoss scored 10 points for Unaka.
Dayshawn Hamilton had 15 points for UH.
