‘Landers Unable To Keep Pace With Top Seed UH

Cloudland was unable to keep pace with a hot University School on Saturday afternoon.

The No. 4 ‘Landers dropped a 73-34 decision to the top-seeded Bucs in the District 1-A Semifinals at Happy Valley High School.

Cloudland moves into Tuesday night’s consolation game while UH secured a spot in the championship game.

The ‘Landers saw UH come out of the gate hot as the Bucs opened the game with a 14-2 run with the lone Cloudland bucket coming from a Cooper Smith bucket.

Nick Caraway and Smith added shots for the ‘Landers in the second part of the quarter, but the Bucs were able to take a 29-9 advantage into the second quarter.

After UH used a 23-2 run to open the second, Cloudland saw Caraway hit two buckets, but the ‘Landers trailed 52-16 at the half.

CHS continued to battle but was unable to trim into the Buc lead in the second half.

Caraway led Cloudland with 14 points. Smith added 10 points, while Kingston Cole scored four points.

Brady Weems and Pete Boynewicz had 15 points each to lead the Bucs. Andrew Cole scored 14 points.
