Monday Round-up: Bulldogs roll in regular season finale; Lady Rangers fall in tight battle



Hampton 82, Chuckey-Doak 70 (boys)
The Bulldogs ended the regular season on a strong note.

Hampton raced out to a 26-5 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back. HHS pushed the lead to 47-24 at the half.

The Black Knights were able to make a run in the fourth, but Hampton held on for the win.

Morgan Lyons and Conor Burleson had 17 points apiece to pace the Bulldogs, while Garrett Vines had nine points.

Michael Harrison tossed in eight points. In all, 11 Bulldogs reached the scorebooks.

Sullivan East 47, Unaka 43 (girls)
The Lady Rangers fell short in a tight battle.

Unaka jumped out to an 11-10 lead after the first eight minutes and then held a 20-19 lead at the half.

The Lady Patriots, however, used a run in the third quarter to take a five-point lead.

Unaka continued to battle but was unable to regain the lead in the closing moments.

Lyndie Ramsey had 17 points to lead the way for Unaka. Mailey Guy added 12 points.
