Monday Round-up: Lady Cyclones Win In Walk-off Fashion

Elizabethton 6, Science Hill 5 (softball)
Ember Jensen hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth to send the Lady Cyclones to the victory.

Jensen went 4-for-5 with three RBI to lead Elizabethton at the plate. Maely Ingram, Maddie O’Quinn, Madisun Pritchard, and Kenidy Harris each tallied two hits.

In the circle, Pritchard picked up the win as she allowed just five earned runs on nine hits with 10 strikeouts in eight innings of work.

Hampton 10, Avery County (N.C.) 0 (baseball)
The Bulldogs made quick work of their out-of-state foes on Monday in a five-inning game.

Parker Henry went 2-for-3, while Morgan Lyons added two RBI to the Hampton cause. Brody Hicks, Caleb Royston, and Chance Point each added RBI for Hampton.

On the mound, Royston allowed just two hits with six strikeouts in three innings pitched for the win.

Providence Academy 20, Unaka 2 (baseball)
The Rangers were unable to keep pace with the hot bats of the Knights.
Luke Carr and Braydon Powell each had a hit for the Rangers.

Science Hill 11, Elizabethton 1 (baseball)
Elijah Birdson was 2-for-2 as the Cyclones were unable to upend their AAA foe on Monday.

Jaden Anderson, Ashton Wilson, and Bryson Rollins each added a hit.

Elizabethton 8, Volunteer 0 (soccer)
The Cyclones were rolling on Monday.

Holston Howard recorded a hat trick and added two assists as EHS cruised to a win. Clay Hopland, Riley Vernon, Tylar Jenkins, Isaac

Hurley, and Jacob Williams each added a goal for the Orange and Black.
