Monday Round-up: Treadway Throws A No-Hitter For Cyclones, Lady Rangers Take Win Over Hampton

Elizabethton 3, Morristown East 0
The Cyclones picked up the opening day road win.

Gage Treadway pitched a complete game no-hitter as he struck out 16 batters in seven innings of work.

Hayden Nave and Treadway each recorded an RBI to drive in runs for the Cyclones. Peyton Johnson, Brilee Hurley, Zak Workman, Ethan Meier, Wesley Shankles, Kaleb Hambrick, Nave, and Treadway each recorded a hit.

Happy Valley 12, South Greene 10
The Warriors outlasted South Greene on opening day.
Drew Blevins was 3-for-3 with three RBI to lead HV, while Andrew Little was 2-for-5.

On the mound, Tucker Shoun picked up the win. Shoun allowed just one hit with four strikeouts in three innings of work.

Softball
Unaka 20, Hampton 0
The Lady Rangers started quick and never looked back on opening day.

Unaka jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning and held an 11-0 advantage after two innings despite a hard-fought effort by the Lady Bulldogs.

Jill Faust was 3-for-3 with four RBI to lead Unaka, while Trinity Bowers, Alana Parsons, and Hailey Taylor had two hits apiece.

In the pitching circle, Sadie Shoun allowed just one hit and struck out six batters for the Lady Rangers.

Abigail Willis was 1-for-2 to lead Hampton. Cheyenne Fair allowed just one earned run on seven hits in the pitching circle for Hampton.

Unicoi County 13, Happy Valley 1
The Lady Warriors were unable to overcome a quick Unicoi start on opening day.

UC jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two complete innings and scored seven runs in the third to take full control of the game.

Aleah Grindstaff and Laura Rice had a hit apiece for HV with Rice driving in a run.
