The Hampton baseball team bounced back in a big way.
The Bulldogs captured a 9-4 district victory over Sullivan North on Tuesday evening at Scotty Bunton Field – a night after falling to the Raiders despite outhitting North and striking out 14 batters.
Hampton found their groove early with three runs in the bottom of the second and then added five more in the bottom of the third.
Collin Morgan launched a homerun over the right-field wall in the bottom of the sixth to secure momentum for the homestanding Bulldogs.
On the mound, Caleb Royston had a fantastic night as he allowed just three earned runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts in six innings of work.
Freshman Chance Point went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Morgan Lyons, Conor Jones, and Morgan each had two hits. Lyons recorded a triple and three RBI.
