Photo Gallery: Bulldogs Use Quick Start To Move Past Unaka

Hampton took an early lead and never looked back in a county clash Thursday afternoon.

The Bulldogs took a 16-6 victory over Unaka in nonconference action.

Hampton plated 10 runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead. After a scoreless second, Unaka was able to get on the board with a single run in the top of the third, but Hampton answered with three more in the home side of the frame.

The Rangers kept battling with five runs in the fifth. However, Hampton secured the win in the bottom of the fifth with three runs.

Elisha Henson tallied two hits and four RBI for Hampton, while Cade Nelson had a hit and two RBI. Jaden Kuhn and Noah Nichols added a hit and an RBI apiece.

On the mound, Nelson picked up the win as he allowed just one unearned run on five hits in three innings of work.

Rylan Crabtree and Austin Lambert had two hits and one RBI each, while Bailey Cannon added a hit and an RBI. Brayden Buckles had two hits.
