Elizabethton took care of business on Tuesday and picked up a regular season title.

The Cyclones picked up a crucial district win with a 4-1 victory over Tennessee High at Joe O’Brien Field. With the win, Elizabethton secured the District 1-3A regular season championship.

After Tennessee High took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, Elizabethton answered in a big way. EHS tied the game as Justin Whitehead scored off a Jack Blevins single, and Evan Chambers pushed Blevins across home plate with a single.

The Cyclones pushed the lead to 3-1 after Bryson Rowland put the ball in play that allowed Chambers to score.

The third inning went scoreless, and EHS added a run to the lead as Rhett Slagle hit a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Marshal Holtsclaw.

From there, Elizabethton was able to limit Tennessee High to secure the win.

On the mound, Slagle struck out 10 batters and allowed just one earned run on five hits in six innings of work.

Chambers went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Holtsclaw went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Slagle and Blevins added a hit and an RBI apiece, while Rowland had an RBI. Brayden Buckles and Steven Meadows each added a hit.
