The Cloudland boys’ basketball team was unable to keep pace with a torrid North Greene attack on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 4 ‘Landers fell 55-21 to the top-seeded Huskies in the District 1-A semifinals at West Ridge High School.
Cloudland moves into Tuesday’s consolation game while North Greene advanced into the Championship game. Both teams have qualified for the Region 1-A tournament.
North Greene took control from the start.
The Huskies jumped out to a 16-1 lead in the first quarter and pushed the lead out to 22-1 before Devin Balado knocked down a bucket.
North Greene, however, maintained a 30-4 lead at the half.
Tyler Britton scored the first eight points of the second half for North Greene, but Cloudland wouldn’t go quietly.
Nick Caraway hit a 3-pointer and Uriah Jarrett hit two shots to help the CHS offense get going. Bryce Birchfield added a shot, but Cloudland could not get any closer.
Jarrett led Cloudland with nine points, while Birchfield scored six points.
Britton led all scorers with 17 points for the Huskies, while Havoc Fair added 10 points.
