Unaka jumped out early and never looked back.
The Rangers stormed to a 69-36 win over Happy Valley in nonconference action on Warrior Hill Tuesday night.
The girls’ game slated for Tuesday night was postponed.
Unaka opened the game quickly.
Austin Lambert and John Hardin opened the game with back-to-back shots, and Unaka quickly took a 10-0 lead.
Grady Goulds opened the scoring for HV with a 3-pointer, but the Rangers ended the quarter on a 12-0 run to take a 22-3 lead into the second quarter.
In the second stanza, Aiden Walsh opened the scoring for UHS, and the Rangers quickly pushed the lead to 31-5 midway through the quarter. Artee Bahn answered with four straight points to stop the Unaka run.
However, the Rangers pushed the lead to 39-12 at the half.
The second half saw the Rangers able to keep the Warriors at bay to secure the win.
Hardin led Unaka with 19 points, while Crabtree had 10 points. Good finished with eight points. Collin Deyton and Walsh scored seven points.
Bahn led HV with 12 points. Austin Nickles scored eight points, while Lane Parker had five points.
