Region 1-A Girls Championship Game Moved To Happy Valley

The Region 1-A Girls’ Championship has a new home.

Unaka’s title game matchup with North Greene has been moved to Happy Valley from Washburn.

The game is still set for a 7p tipoff on Wednesday night.

After the two District 1-A teams won both semifinal match-ups on Monday, the schools were allowed to move the championship game to an alternate site. HV hosted the District 1-A tournament.
Washburn hosted Monday’s action and will host the remainder of the boys’ tournament – barring a District 1 sweep on Tuesday.

It will be the fourth meeting this season between the two teams, with Unaka winning two of the three including a 56-51 win in the District 1-A Championship game. The winner will host a Saturday substate game, while the loser will have to travel for their substate game.
