Three County teams ranked in AP poll after Week 7

The Tennessee Prep Football AP poll after Week 7 continued to feature three county teams.

In Class 4A, Elizabethton held steady at No. 4. The Cyclones, who were off in Week 7, tallied 115 points.


Greeneville maintained the top spot while Crockett County and Anderson County held down the second and third spots.

In Class 2A, Happy Valley fell to No. 9 from No. 6 after Friday’s loss to Grace Christian. The Warriors tallied 47 points and were three points behind No. 8 Waverly.

Meigs County was No. 1 in the poll with Union City and Columbia Academy were No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Cloudland took sole possession of the No. 9 spot in Class A with Friday’s win at Unaka. The ‘Landers, who were tied for the No. 9 spot last weekend, tallied 34 points – 19 points behind No. 7 Cornersville and Lake County.

Other local teams ranked included Johnson County (No. 3 in Class 3A) and Daniel Boone (No. 9 in Class 5A).
