Carter County continued to be well represented in the Tennessee Prep Football AP poll entering Week 8.
In Class A, Cloudland climbed two spots to No. 7 in this week’s edition. The ‘Landers were 28 points behind No. 6 Clay County.
Peabody held down the top spot with 14-of-18 first-place votes with Fayetteville coming in No. 2 with the remaining four first-place votes. McKenzie, South Pittsburg, and Gordonsville round out the top five.
In Class 4A, Elizabethton held steady at No. 3 with 142 points. The Cyclones were 14 points behind No. 2 Tullahoma.
Greeneville was a unanimous No. 1 selection, while Haywood County and Hardin County were No. 4 and No. 5 in the poll.
In Class 2A, Hampton moved to No. 8 this week. The Bulldog were just five points behind No. 7 Riverside and 10 points behind No. 6 Memphis Academy.
Meigs County claimed 16-of-18 first-place votes to remain at the top spot, while Trousdale County held firm at No. 2. Westview climbed one spot to No. 3.
