Thursday Round-up: Bulldogs Pull Away From North Greene; Unaka Sweeps Hancock County

Hampton 78, North Greene 44 (boys)
The Bulldogs slowly pulled away to take a league win on Thursday night.
Hampton held an 18-11 advantage at the end of the first quarter and pushed the lead to 36-21 at the half. From there, the Bulldogs continued to hold control of the game.
Colby Clark and Chase Davenport led Hampton with 19 points apiece, while Tuff Robinson added 16 points. Talon Creed added seven points.
Isaac Gaby had 12 points to lead North Greene, and Thomas Darnell added 11 points.
Unaka 86, Hancock County 64 (boys)
The Rangers raced out to a 21-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Zach Wallin had 18 points to lead Unaka. John Hardin and Austin Lambert scored 17 and 15 points, respectively, while Justius Wallin added 10 points.
Hancock County saw Isauah Fodor lead the way with 17 points.
North Greene 61, Hampton 39 (girls)
The Lady Bulldogs were unable to rally after a big third quarter by the Lady Huskies.
After the first quarter ended tied at 12-12, NG was able to take a slim 34-28 lead into the half. The Lady Huskies, however, outscored Hampton 13-4 in the third quarter.
Hampton continued to battle, but was unable to rally in the final eight minutes.
Hannah Baird paced Hampton with 16 points. Hannah Smith added 11 points.
Tralyn Southerland scored 18 points to lead North Greene, while Ella Head added 17 points.
Unaka 67, Hancock County 15 (girls)
The Lady Rangers jumped out early and never looked back on Thursday night.
Michelle Shields had 22 points to lead the way for UHS. Brooklyn Campbell scored 10 points. Unaka saw 10 players record points in the contest.
Hancock County was led by Zoe Payne’s eight points.
