Tuesday Round-up: Bulldogs, Cyclones Win Thrillers, Lady ‘Landers Pick Up Road Sweep

Hampton 3, West Greene 1
The Bulldogs picked up a district win on Tuesday.

Hampton led 1-0 heading into the sixth and added two more runs in the top of the sixth. West Greene was able to get the go-ahead run on base in the bottom of the sixth and to the plate in the bottom of the seventh, but the Bulldogs were able to hold on for the win.

Noah Nichols went 2-for-3 for two RBI, and Cade Nelson was 2-for-4. Gabriel Lyons added two hits.

Jayden Kuhn had one hit and an RBI.

On the mound, Elisha Henson picked up the win as he allowed just one earned run on four hits with six strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work.

Elizabethton 7, Crockett 6
The Cyclones saw JD Hooks score after Steven Meadows put the ball in play in the top of the seventh to take a district win.

Hooks finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Meadows had a hit with two RBI. Aliester Sumner had two RBI and a hit. Brayden Buckles ended the game with a hit and an RBI.

Rhett Slagle, Bryson Rowland, Jack Blevins, and Evan Chambers each had a hit.

Slagle struck out five batters in 4.1 innings of work while allowing just four earned runs on six hits. Justin Whitehead picked up the win as he allowed two earned runs on two hits with four strikeouts in 2.2 innings of work.

South Greene 11, Happy Valley 5
The Warriors were unable to rally late on Tuesday.

Grady Goulds had two hits to lead HV. Lane Parker, Drew Blevins, and Aiden Hartsook each had a hit and an RBI.

Cade Kendall added an RBI, and Ty Johnson and Jamie Esterline had a hit apiece.

In five innings of work, Goulds struck out three batters while allowing just two earned runs on eight hits.

The Lady ‘Landers swept a pair of games on the road Tuesday afternoon.

In game one, CHS plated 10 runs in the first and never looked back to roll to the win.

Regan Blair went 3-for-3 with five RBI, while Eowyn finished 3-for-3 with three RBI.

Peyton Preswood tallied two hits and an RBI. Reagan Turbyfull and Ayla Horney finished the game with two RBIs and a hit. Jayla Harper and Savannah McCoury each added an RBI.

In the pitching circle, Turbyfill allowed just three earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

In the second game, Johnson County jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Cloudland answered with 13 runs of their own in the home side of the frame to take complete control.

S. McCoury went 3-for-4 with three RBI to pace CHS. Blair went 3-for-3 with two RBI, and Turbyfill added two hits and two RBI. E. McCoury had two RBI and one hit.

Khloe Johnson and Preswood had one hit and one RBI apiece. Abriella Jones added two RBI.

Hampton 17, Happy Valley 7
The Lady Bulldogs plated 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the win over HV.

Hannah Smith finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBI. Emma Birchfield recorded two hits with three RBI.

Maleah Scalf and Hadley Vines had two hits and two RBI apiece. Malory Lamb, Briley Davis, Lauren Smith, and Dru Nickles each added two hits and an RBI.

Trinity Bowers went 4-for-4 to lead HV, while Alex Moore and Maliyah Green had three hits and two RBI.

Elizabethton 13, Sevier County 2
The Lady Cyclones rolled to a 13-2 win on Tuesday.

Kaitlyn Gryder went 3-for-4 with four RBI, while Sadie Williams went 4-for-4 with two RBI. Mikinna Blackwell added two hits and two RBI, while Brook Sparks had two RBI.

Piper Bennett tallied three hits and an RBI.
