Cloudland 51, Happy Valley 26 (girls)
After a sluggish start, the Lady ‘Landers rolled to a county win.
The teams went back-and-forth in the opening minutes until Cloudland used a run to take a 13-7 lead into the second quarter. The Lady ‘Landers took full control in the second by outscoring HV 18-3.
Makinna Shell scored 17 points to lead the way for Cloudland. Savannah McCoury had eight points for CHS, while Eowyn McCoury added five points.
Alex Moore, Aubree Whitehead, and Kymber Pruitt had five points apiece to pace the Lady Warriors.
Unaka 51, Tri-Cities Christian 29 (girls)
The Lady Rangers pulled away for a road win Tuesday evening.
Unaka slowly pulled away in the first half and used a 19-6 run in the third to leave no doubt.
Michelle Shields had 27 points to lead Unaka, and Brooklyn Campbell and Arianna Sutherland had eight points each.
Ella Jaworski led Tri-Cities Christian with 11 points.
Elizabethton 53, Science Hill 45 (girls)
The Lady Cyclones used a big second quarter to take control and the win.
After holding a 13-12 lead after a quarter of play, Elizabethton outscored Science Hill 24-9 in the second to take a 37-21 lead into the half.
Science Hill was able to chip into the lead throughout the second half, but EHS was able to maintain the advantage for the win.
Jamira Smalls led Elizabethton with 16 points. Rylee May added 14 points, while Addison Bunn added 10 points.
Volunteer 75, Hampton 62 OT (girls)
A Hampton rally came up heartbreakingly short in overtime.
The Lady Bulldogs scored 24 points in the fourth to force overtime after entering the frame trailing by seven. However, Hampton was unable to keep pace with Volunteer in the extra period.
Hannah Baird had 28 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Lauren Smith tossed in 11 points. Payton Ramey scored nine points.
Cloudland 40, Happy Valley 37 (boys)
In a defensive battle, Cloudland was able to come out on top.
HV held an 8-7 lead after a quarter of play, but Cloudland took a 17-16 advantage into the half. It continued to be a defensive battle with the ‘Landers securing the win late.
Uriah Jarrett had 17 points to lead Cloudland. Conner Carpenter added six points, while John Wilson and Gavyn Shell finished with five points apiece.
Grady Goulds led HV with 10 points, while Lane Parker added eight points. Artee Bahn tossed in five points for the Warriors.
Hampton 67, Volunteer 59 (boys)
The Bulldogs picked up a tough road win on Tuesday.
It was a back-and-forth battle with Hampton holding a slim one-point lead after the first and the half. The Bulldogs pushed the advantage to 50-45 after three complete quarters, and then held on for the win in the closing stages.
Chase Davenport finished with 21 points to lead the way, while Tuff Robinson added 15 points. Colby Clark scored 13 points. Bryce Fagan and Talon Creed finished with seven and six points, respectively.
Science Hill 72, Elizabethton 49 (boys)
The Cyclones were unable to keep pace with a hot Science Hill offense on Tuesday night.
Hudson Pate led Elizabethton with 18 points, while Nathan Bailey added 14 points.
Justin Whitehead added nine points. Evan Chambers finished with eight points in the game.
