Happy Valley 56, University High 33 (girls)
Adrienne Henegar had 17 points to lead the Lady Warriors to the victory.
HV, who had a 23-18 lead at the half, pulled away as the defense stymied the Lady Bucs. The Lady Warriors outscored UH 16-0 in the frame.
From there, it was all Happy Valley.
Shalyn Whitson added 12 points to the HV cause. Calli Newberry led UH with 13 points.
Johnson County 49, Hampton 47 (girls)
The Lady Bulldogs were unable to steal one away as a buzzer beater fell off the mark.
Stephanie Campbell had 21 points to lead Hampton, while Hannah Collins added eight points.
Taylor Cox led Johnson County with 22 points.
South Greene 57, Unaka 31 (girls)
The Lady Rangers saw state powerhouse South Greene pull away in the second half.
Unaka kept within one point at the end of the first quarter, and stayed within striking distance in the second quarter. However, South Greene saw Kiley Collins lead a third quarter run and never looked back.
Myah Parlier led the Lady Rangers with 18 points.
University High 66, Happy Valley 42 (boys)
The Warriors were unable to keep pace with a hot-handed Bucs squad. After trailing 13-7 at the end of the first quarter, HV was unable to keep the offense rolling as UH pushed the lead to 21 points at the break.
Luke Roberts led HV with 14 points. Bryce Carter added nine points, and Landon Babb scored six points for the Warrior cause.
Johnson County 59, Hampton 46 (boys)
The Bulldogs saw Johnson County pull away for the win in the final eight minutes.
Rocky Croy had 14 points to lead the Bulldogs. Jonah Jones added 10 points.
Blake Atwood tallied 26 points to lead the Longhorns. Zach Eller and Troy Arnold added 15 and 12 points, respectively.
South Greene 57, Unaka 54 OT (boys)
The Rangers dropped a heartbreaker despite a strong showing by Ryan Johnson.
Unaka saw the Rebels take an overtime victory on Stoney Creek. Johnson tallied 28 points on the loss – including seven 3-pointers.
Isaac Hill added 14 points for Unaka.
