Unaka was unable to answer a big second quarter on Friday night.
The Rangers came up short in a 44-6 decision to North Greene at Goddard Field in Region 1-A play after the Huskies erupted for 34 points in the second quarter.
North Greene took a 7-0 lead midway through the first as Thomas Darnell scored on a 13-yard run.
After the Rangers were unable to get anything going, North Greene quickly pushed the advantage to 34-0 seven minutes into the second quarter.
Unaka, however, kept battling as Connor McKinney scored on a one-yard run to get the Rangers on the board. The Huskies countered as Matthew Boy caught a 13-yard pass from Darnell for a score in the closing seconds.
Unaka continued to fight as they kept NG out of the endzone in the second half.
McKinney had 17 carries for 39 yards, and he also went 4-of-10 passing for 62 yards. Micah Gray had three catches for 20 yards.
Darnell led Unaka with 103 yards on five carries while he went 5-of-13 passing for 63 yards.
