Unaka used a big time performance to take control on Monday night.

Lyndie Ramsey had 35 points as the Lady Rangers took a 62-44 victory over Hampton in the District 1-A Consolation game on Stoney Creek.

Unaka earned the No. 3 seed for District 1-A and will open the Region 1-A tournament at Greenback, while Hampton will travel to Cosby as the No. 4 seed from District 1-A.

It was a back-and-forth battle early on.

Taylor Berry hit a pair of 3-pointers as Hampton jumped out to a 12-9 lead after eight minutes of play. Unaka, however, battled back as Ramsey scored 12 points in the second stanza as the Lady Rangers edged ahead by three points at the half.

Five Lady Rangers hit the scorebooks in the third quarter as UHS outscored Hampton 22-10 in the frame as the Lady Rangers took control.

Hampton, however, continued to battle, but was unable to make a late rally.

In addition to Ramsey’s 35 points, Macy Ensor had seven points, while Tara Whitehead added six points.

Berry finished with 11 points to power the Lady Bulldogs.

Macy Henry added nine points, while Linsey Jenkins and Madi McClain had eight and seven points, respectively.
